Top reasons NOT to shave a double coated dog.
A double coated dog is a dog who has an undercoat example breeds are shepherds/goldens/collies/labs and huskies.
Dogs with double coats have VERY sensitive skin they could end up with razor burn and get sunburns.
Shaving them does not make them shed less by any means
It permently damages the animals coat
A double coat helps him stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Shaving it off will not help them beat the heat.
It does not look good or go along with breed standards.
We do understand there are exceptions due to health reasons etc.
